Ann Marie Vankovich

Ann Marie Vankovich, of Bristol, VA, age 84, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was born November 7, 1939, to the late Edgar Brummett and Callie Bowman Brummett.Marie graduated from Greendale High School in Abingdon, VA where she served as valedictorian. Mrs. Vankovich retired after working as an administrative assistant for many years. She recently attended East Bristol Baptist Church and loved the Lord.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Steve Vankovich Sr.; brothers, Cecil Brummett, Kenneth Brummett, Mack Brummett, Wilmer Brummett, Junior Brummett, and Gene Brummett; and two sisters, Edith Mae Fleenor and Dorothy Carrier.Survivors include her son, Steve Vankovich Jr. and wife Davida; her one and only granddaughter, Victoria Vankovich who she loved with all her heart; her sisters, Ida Tharp of Bristol, TN and Pat (Trisha) Hartsock of Bristol, VA; special niece, Debbie Lambert and many other nieces, nephews, and good friends.She loved all of her family and friends very much and will be missed by all. We know she is in heaven with her late husband of 51 years and smiling down on all of us.The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from noon to 1 p.m. at Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Dan Birchfield officiating.Marie will be laid to rest beside of her beloved husband following the celebration of life service at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Isaiah 117 House.
