Amen.Dianne Elizabeth Sarrett Ross, age 79, of Bristol, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2024. She was born on December 23, 1944, in Atlanta, GA to the late Clifford and Lucille Sarrett. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Carl Sarrett (Christine), George Sarrett (Caryl), Edward Sarrett and Robert "Bob" Sarrett; niece, Frances E. Sarrett Carter; and brother-in-law, William "Billy" O'Brien.Dianne spent her life loving on others everywhere she went. From teaching preschool, running after school care or cooking meals for a few hundred students, she loved being around children and thoroughly enjoyed her time at The Heiskell School in Atlanta, GA. After many years in education, she spent time in management in the grocery business and Slopes BBQ in Alpharetta, GA. Retirement found her and Martin relocating to Bristol, TN. In Bristol, she faithfully attended First Christian Church in Bristol, VA where she cooked for Meals on Wheels, served at the food pantry and volunteered at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Known for being an amazing cook (her love language), she loved big and was known for speaking her mind.Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Martin Allan Ross; children, Allan Ross (Kelly) and Michele Harbaugh (J.D.); grandchildren, John Martin Harbaugh and Dylan Ross; sister, Marlene O'Brien; sister-in-law, Mary Sarrett; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.A gathering for friends and family will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at First Christian Church in Bristol, VA from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Burden officiating.A committal service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Eastern Heights Cemetery beginning at 2:30 PM with Pastors Jeremy Burden and Herb Peak officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery. Family will be serving as pallbearers and Joel Sarrett as honorary pallbearer.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Meals on Wheels program at First Christian Church in memory of Dee.Online condolences for the family may be sent and viewed by visiting www.BlevinsCares.com.
