Helen Marie Kilgore

Helen Marie Kilgore, 92, of Bristol, Virginia, died Monday, January 15, 2024, at Memory Care in Bristol, Virginia after a lengthy illness. She was born August 10, 1931, in Bristol, Tennessee to William T. King and Emma (Leonard) King.On New Year’s Eve, 1961, Helen married Walter “Ed” Kilgore in Bristol, TN. Survivors include children Rita Payne, Jacksonville, FL, Michael Ricker (Mitzi), Bristol, TN and Walter (Ed) Kilgore II (Brenda) of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Kevin Payne, Jacksonville, FL; Daniel Kilgore (Whitney), Ewa Beach, HI; Erika Pierce (Justin), Denver, CO, Travis Kilgore (Katie), Virginia Beach, VA and MyKala Ricker Slaughter, Cleveland, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews.Helen was the eldest of five children and was loved for her sense of humor and fun, especially at family gatherings. Her siblings include Billy King, Alan King and Betty Willis, and she was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Kilgore, brother Dallas King; brother-in-law, Jack Willis and two sisters-in-law, Margaret King and Nola King. Helen loved the Lord, and we will all miss her and cherish her memory.A committal service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Blevins Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM.
