Lawrence Palmer Horton

Lawrence “Larry” Palmer Horton, 84, entered into the loving arms of Jesus during the afternoon hours of Monday, January 15, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on April 2, 1939, in Lackawanna, NY to the late George Edward & Josephine Horton.Larry was a dedicated member of Saint Peter Presbyterian Church. He spent 27 years at Lockheed Martin as a manufacturing engineering manager. He was a hobbyist, he loved building things, woodworking, boating, and target shooting. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Horton; and sister-in law, Sylvia Zydb.Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Sally Ann Horton; his two children, Angela Windham (Laurence) and Michael Horton (Susan); seven grandchildren, Christina Borer (Dustin), Adam Horton, Lauren Lovett (Caleb), Alayna Windham, Ethan Windham (Kianna), Garrett Windham, and Miles Windham; three great-grandchildren, Celes Borer, James Lovett, and Harper Lovett; brother, David Horton (Shirley); nephew, Paul Horton; two sisters-in-law, Sharon O’Keefe (John) and Sheila Maute; and a host of friends.A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Saint Peter Presbyterian Church (646 TN-126 Bristol, TN 37620) with his son-in-law, Rev. Laurence Windham and Elder Don Kiser officiating.Larry will be laid to rest following the Celebration of Life Service at Mendota Cemetery (2531 Mendota Road Mendota, VA 24270).
