Phyllis Canter

Phyllis Canter, 88, of Bristol, VA passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at her residence. She was lifelong resident of Bristol, VA born on December 14, 1935, a daughter of the late George and Zollie Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Canter, Sr. She had retired from Gordon Garments.Phyllis is survived by two children, William Canter, Jr. and his wife, Darlene, and Kathy Hawks; four grandchildren, Shawn Hawks and his wife, Rebecca, Josh Hawks, Justin Hawks and his wife, Christie, and Shannan Canter; five great grandchildren, Adrianna Booher, Destiny Bowers, Jackson Canter, Greyson Hawks, and Natalie Newsome; one sister, Sue Walden and her husband, Howard; one brother, Herman Lowe and his wife, Norce; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Vann Seal officiating.The committal service and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA.
