Theodore "Bear" Richard Barnes II, age 65, of Bluff City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1958, to the late Theodore Barnes and Diana Lantz Barnes.Bear worked for KVAT as a driver. He enjoyed participating in motorcycle rides for charity and attending auctions. Bear used to own a used car lot and he enjoyed driving his roll back. Bear was a jokester and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed.Left to cherish his memory are his son, Theodore Barnes III; special friend, Brian Counts and wife, Crystal; and a host of friends and family.A gathering for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Blevins Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Rowlette officiating. A committal service will follow at Weaver Cemetery with friends serving as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association in memory of Bear.Online condolences for the family may be sent and viewed by visiting www.BlevinsCares.com. Bear was sure one of a kind, We met bear back in late of 2003 Everyone knows you do not put your feet down while riding a motorcycle, the group got faster an faster coming across 421/Shady with me being a newbie to being a passenger an my husband being a good rider I put my feet down an it was a terrific time for me , we get to the top of the mountain an I throw my helmet “Im not doing this nooo more I’m walking home”. Well the ladies in the group talked to me an calmed my nerves an I was ready to go with the group well Teddy Bear sat on his bike an said young lady your riding with me well everyone else made arrangements an shifted places so I could ride down with bear. He was so kind an calm an talked to me the whole time explaining the dos an donts to riding in a group of crazy people on motorcycles. I will always be thankful for him he had the patience to explain what could happen THANK YOU BEAR FOR ALL THE GOOD MEMORIES WE ALL HAD IN our 18 years of being friends!! RIDE ON BROTHER !! We love ya

Bear was such an inspiration for Americans, always eager to help in any cause. He worked with me on several Veteran Organizations. His endless charitable heart and caring soul will be missed. He always had a smile and a hand to lend to all. May you rest in peace Bear. Know that you were loved and appreciated..................................................
Ted was always a gentleman and well like among his friends. My heartfelt sympathy for his family, he will be missed.
